Campground Review: Twin Fountains RV Resort
November 11: We had finally made it far enough West, so it was time to head South. Being that our stay in Kansas was extended due to some truck repair, we only had time for a one night stay at Twin Fountains RV Resort in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With a quick look in our Big Rig Friendly book, we zoned in on the Twin Fountains RV Resort.
The campground was nice and convenient to exploring Oklahoma City. There was a combination of paved and gravel sites depending on the section of the campground. There were both pull-thru and back-in sites. Most of the paved sites were lengthy, but did have inclines going into and out of the sites. The part where the RV would be parked was nice and level, but where a tow vehicle or other vehicles were parked was at an incline. While it worked out just fine, it is not the ideal situation. The paved sites did have a paved patio area for the picnic table. There were some nice mature trees that did add a bit of shade and a little visual separation between sites.
The facilities were very clean and well-kept. The office had a grand entrance and there was even a limo that served as a shuttle. It is the first time we have seen a campground with a limousine service! While we didn’t stay long enough to really explore or use the concierge or shuttle service, it seems like a nice perk. There was a restaurant and bar on site which made Twin Fountains RV Resort feel a little resorty. We didn’t try either out, but the complex was nice.
There was a park across the street with really nice basketball courts which I am sure we will try out if we are ever back at Twin Fountains RV Resort. If you are looking for a place to camp near Oklahoma City, this is super convenient. Great location and almost an urban feel. With that being said, due to its proximity to the city, road noise is going to be a part of the experience.
