Campground Review: Winton Woods Campground

Campground Review: Winton Woods Campground

We were looking for a campground near the Cincinnati area and came across Winton Woods Campground, located, owned and run by Hamilton County. The campground was very well-maintained and had twelve nice paved pull-through sites. While the campground had limited amenities such as a pool or sports courts, it was within walking distance to Winton Woods Harbor. It also was situated on the water and would be a great place for kayaking and/or paddleboarding. The campground store was nice and had a small cafe and ice cream shop.  It is important to note that in addition to the campground fees, you are required to have a vehicle pass which is an additional charge (minimal, but still should be considered). Winton Woods Campground would be good place to stay if you wanted to explore the downtown Cincinnati area (about 20 minutes) and only about a half hour from Kings Island Amusement Park. Unfortunately the super rainy weather didn’t allow us, but there is a walk/bike trail right along the entrance of the campground that we would definitely check out next time.
