Life is Feeling Pretty Peachy Today

Life is Feeling Pretty Peachy Today

We arrived back at the Elizabethtown / Hershey KOA on Thursday afternoon. It was just a hop, skip, and jump from Drummer Boy Camping Resort in Gettysburg, so it was definitely an easy “moving” day! Upon arrival, we were taken to our pull-thru site which quite lengthy (~120 feet, told you it was lengthy) with large shaded grassy areas on each side. It’s absolutely lovely, including the weather that also changed drastically almost overnight. It feels like fall and we like it! Who has made it official by partaking in something “Pumpkin Spice” already? Hello September - we love you & welcome you with open arms!

This morning, we made all our mandatory stops at all our favorite Elizabethtown places (from our visit here in May). We stocked up on gluten-free treats from Made with Love Not Gluten. It is without a doubt the best gluten-free bakery we have come across so far. Doesn’t look or taste gluten free which is probably the best compliment for any GF bakery. YUM!

With a few boxes full of baked goods, we couldn’t return home without some coffee. It wasn’t us, it was the eclair, scones, and danish asking for some time with their best friend - coffee. Without much fuss, we obliged with a stop at Folklore Coffee & Company. And with that stop we headed back with the perfect pair of sweet treats & java!

Yesterday, the cashier at Giant told our brother-in-law, Mike, about a local orchard. They had just spent over $8 on 3 Honeycrisp apples, so she recommended the pick your own apples at the Masonic Village Farm Market for only $0.80/lb. After a quick Facebook search and finding out they also featured pick-your-own peaches - I was certain that we wouldn’t be leaving the Elizabethtown area without a fridge full of fresh fruit! Peaches are like little bites of sunshine. We had a fantastic time time walking between the fruit trees searching for all the ripe, beautiful apples & peaches our hearts desired! *wipes drool from face* 10 pounds of peaches and 10 lbs of apples later, we left the orchard! The weather could not have been better for our trip to the orchard with a perfect combination of sunshine and breeze!
