Campground Review: I-35 RV Park

When we confirmed our travels would be taking us to Texas, we knew we wanted to make a quick stop in Waco. Okay you guessed it, we where hoping to take Chip & Joanna out for dinner. Read more about our short visit in the previous post. Back to the campground review…

I-35 RV Park was just what we were looking for, a campground that allowed for a quick on/off or in/out. We were just in need of a place to park for the night as we took an evening to explore Waco. I-35 RV Park fit the bill of a true roadside RV park. It was literally as the name would imply, located right along I-35. The sites were all gravel with lots of long, spacious pull-thrus. The park did appear to have some permanent tenants in the part of the park that had covered sites that they marketed for monthly stays.

An added perk of nightly/weekly stays at I-35 RV Park is the free breakfast that is included with your stay. Bubba’s Breakfast is a volunteer cook-to-order cafe where the cooks work for tips. They have a menu with creatively named plates: Class A (2 Eggs, Hasbrowns, Sausage or Bacon, Toast or Biscuit), 5th Wheel (Pancakes, Sausage or Bacon, Toast or Biscuit), Bumper Pull (French Toast, Sausage or Bacon, Toast or Biscuit), and Cabover (Biscuits and Gravy, Sausage or Bacon). Don’t forget the Hookups (Coffee, Milk, or Juice) and the Slideouts (Oatmeal, Cereal, and Fruit). Russ and I have always said breakfast at a campground makes sense. You can stay at a Bed & Breakfast  why not a Site & Breakfast! Thanks I-35 RV Park for adding the amenity that is hard to find at campgrounds. 

The facilities were nice at I-35 RV Park. The pool appeared to be relatively new, featuring zero entry. While we didn’t get to check it out, there was also a driving range, pet wash, petting zoo, catch and release fishing ponds, and nature trail. 

While this is not a campground we would want to spend a long period of time, it was exactly what we were looking for on this part of our road trip to our next workamping job in Texas.
