Closing Day

Closing Day

The last couple weeks have been absolutely crazy!! After accepting a great offer on our house, we were asked how quickly we could be out. We had a total of 18 days from signing the contract until our scheduled closing day. We quickly organized the moving sale we described in the last post. Thankfully that went well and between a donation truck pickup and 1-800-Got-Junk? pickup we had the place cleaned out! Everything we will be moving into our 5th wheel is either in the temporary storage space we rented or in one of our vehicles!

Today was closing day! We weren’t sure what to expect emotion-wise. We truly loved our little home and neighbors on the cal-de-sac of Gleneagles Road! However, we have so much to look forward to that it is hard to be sad! After closing this morning, we both walked out and high-fived each other and both cheerfully proclaimed “we don’t have a mortgage anymore”! It was certainly a fabulous feeling! Our sticks-n-bricks house is gone - now we just need our new home (our fifth wheel) to arrive from Calgary!

Again, a super big THANK YOU goes out to our awesome realtor, Susan Welsh of RE/Max Realty Group. If you are looking to buy or sell a house in the Philadelphia Suburbs, we highly recommend you give her a call. She is very knowledgable about the ebbs and flows of the reality market, represents you and your property in a very professional manner, & always has your back throughout the process (a little Irish firecracker)!

Here are a few pictures of our last day in our empty, echo-ing house….

So while we are officially homeless, we are so blessed that Russ’ sister, Ceil, has graciously welcomed us into her home during this transition time for us. We can’t imagine the chaos that would have ensued if we didn’t have a place to stay to get everything sorted back out!
